Shipping speed was great -- order placed on Monday afternoon and had it by Friday afternoon.
- Red/black wires are only 2 ft long
- Blue/yellow wires are 5+ ft long
- Handlebar switch didn't fit the pre-cut openings on the Honda 700 dashboard
- Plenty of room between the electrical leads on the winch and the bumper/frame
The reason I mention the length of the wires is that the red-black off the battery are impractical on the Honda Pioneer 700, as the battery compartment is under the passenger seat and not under the hood like the Pioneer 1000. It was easy enough to swap those with the blue-yellow coming from the battery, and the red-black going from the solenoid to the winch.
I was able to wire up a standard momentary two position switch I had from another project for installation on the dashboard mount. The power tap that I ran to the dash switch was doubled to power the wireless remote.
Installation would have taken about an hour if I'd done it end to end.
Fit and finish of the winch itself is great. Some of the other parts, not so much. The winch hook leaves a lot to be desired, and the boots provided for the #4 wire were difficult to adjust over the heat shrink used on the terminals.

Viper Midnight 4500
I ordered this for my 2021 Honda Pioneer 700-2 Deluxe. Deliver was quick and everything was in the kit despite all of the hardware being out of the bag and rolling around in the box. The winch did not have the brand sticker on it which I don't care about, it was just strange. The fit and finish of all the parts is top notch with the exception of the hook. The gate on the hook is very stiff because it is slightly bent but I will be replacing the hook with a shackle mount anyways.
The installation of the winch itself was fairly easy. The mount fit was very tight but that is a good thing. The instruction for the winch and mount were pretty good even though that part is pretty easy to figure out without instructions. The color coded cables had to be switched as mentioned in the instructions.
The instructions for the relay were not as clear. I had to go online to find a picture of the wireless unit wiring which after it was wired up was easy to understand but without good instructions it was not clear.
I already had a dash mounted rocker switch for the winch control so I just cut off the handle bar mounted switch and ran those wires to my switch.
All I have done so far is let the rope out and then used the winch to pull the Pioneer up my drive to my truck to get the rope wound tight. I worked great. I bought the winch to help move downed trees and to use with a snow plow which I have not purchased yet. It looks great on the SxS as it is almost invisible.
I am very satisfied with the purchase experience from The Honda SXS Club store and highly recommend them.
